Volunteer in Tanzania

Tanzania Volunteer Program

14 Days

GIVE’s Tanzania trip takes you from the tropical paradise of Zanzibar Island to the African savannas of Nyerere National Park – the largest National Park on the African continent. You will volunteer alongside our host community members to build critical infrastructure, teach English and support women’s empowerment projects. In your free time, you will also get to swim with wild dolphins in the Indian Ocean, set sail over crystal clear waters, and embark on a 2-day African wildlife safari. After you volunteer in Tanzania, climb Mount Kilimanjaro with GIVE and summit the tallest freestanding mountain in the world. Enhance your experience by taking our accredited Ecotourism course and receive academic credit!

I truly received an impactful, authentic experience and learned so much about the history and culture of Zanzibar. On top of that, I had an absolute blast with our kind, high-energy guides and fellow volunteers who started as strangers and now are lifelong friends. If you’re looking into sustainable traveling, I couldn’t recommend GIVE more!”

Highlights of Volunteering in Tanzania

Volunteer Work in Tanzania

As a volunteer in Tanzania you will work alongside our host community members to build a nursery, primary and secondary school on Zanzibar Island! There are already more than 140 children attending school here and you will also have the opportunity to teach them English. Finally, volunteer in Arusha, Tanzania with a local women’s cooperative, helping them to build chicken coops that provide a stable source of food and income for their families.

African Adventure

After you volunteer in Tanzania with GIVE, it’s time for the ultimate African adventure. You will get to swim wild dolphins in the Indian Ocean, snorkel amongst vibrant coral reefs, and sail over crystal clear waters to white sand beaches. Last but not least, hop into a safari truck and look out for lions, elephants, giraffes, leopards, zebras, cheetahs, hippos and so much more on a 2-day African safari! There’s truly no better way to cap off your time volunteering in Tanzania!

“Tanzania was unbelievable. It has opened my eyes to the larger world around me and showed me how to help – abroad and at home.”
