Get your hands dirty on some backcountry trail work in Washington State’s spectacular wilderness. You will take part in annual trail maintenance and construction projects like building retaining walls, clearing logs and debris, digging drainage ditches, installing check dams, and so many other critical projects to keep trails clean, clear and open for all backcountry lovers.
Get ready for an epic week in the Pacific Northwest Wonderland of the Cascade Mountains. After volunteering on backcountry trail-building projects throughout the day, your afternoons and evenings are free to swim in alpine lakes, hike to nearby summits, and camp beneath the stars in the Washington State wilderness. Your trip culminates with a whitewater kayaking journey down class 3 rapids and a whale-watching cruise through the Salish Sea!
Less than a year after I went to Tanzania with GIVE I found myself once again surrounded by the amazing family this organization has created, but this time in the Cascade Mountains. The lessons I learned this week are ones I will bring with me wherever I go. I can’t thank this group of incredible humans enough.
