Global Health Trips
Therapy Abroad and GIVE Volunteers have partnered to offer purposeful, hands-on global health programs in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Zanzibar, and Thailand, designed for students in speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, public health, education, and related fields. Building on GIVE’s long-standing relationships with local communities, each 11- to 14-day journey pairs supervised, practice-based learning with deep cultural immersion and collaboration alongside local partners, Therapy Abroad clinicians, educators, and families.
Along the way, you’ll explore how communication, access, movement, inclusion, and community environments shape everyday wellbeing, while building practical skills and a clearer understanding of the communities you may serve in the future. Through meaningful community engagement, you’ll also experience each destination’s remarkable landscapes, culture, and adventure, from rainforest hikes and whitewater rafting to island coastlines and mountain villages. The result is an authentic, locally guided international learning experience that helps you explore your profession and grow as a globally minded practitioner.
