Days 1-2

Arrive in Moshi & Begin Trek

Arrive in Moshi and settle into our accommodations at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. Meet your expert guides, get oriented, and gear up for the adventure ahead. The next morning, begin your trek along a winding rainforest trail to Machame Camp (10,200 ft). Keep your eyes peeled for monkeys and vibrant plant life as you ascend.
Trekking Time: 5–7 hours

Day 3

Shira Camp

Leave the rainforest behind and continue climbing through heath-covered ridges and valleys. The trail leads west into a dramatic river gorge before reaching Shira Camp (12,500 ft).
Trekking Time: 5–7 hours

Day 4

Barranco Camp

Head east toward the towering “Shark’s Tooth” lava formation, then pass below a striking glacier before descending into Barranco Camp (13,000 ft).
Trekking Time: 5–7 hours

Day 5

Barafu Camp

Tackle the imposing Barranco Wall, then wind through the Karanga Valley, catching sweeping views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. Settle in for the night at Barafu Camp (15,100 ft).
Trekking Time: 8–9 hours

Day 6

Summit Night

Start your summit push just after midnight, trekking past Stella Point on your way to Uhuru Peak (19,341 ft) – the highest point in Africa! After soaking it all in, descend to Mweka Camp for the night.
Trekking Time: ~5 hours to summit, additional descent time

Days 7-8

Mweka Gate & Departure

Make your final descent to the Mweka Gate, where you’ll celebrate your achievement and transfer back to Arusha for a well-earned night of rest. (Trekking Time: 3–5 hours)

“I was standing ON THE ROOF OF AFRICA!! What a surreal and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to summit the tallest mountain in Africa, at sunrise, on the Southern Hemisphere’s winter solstice! 6 days and 19,341 ft. later, I now have so many irreplaceable memories and an even greater mental fortitude than I ever thought possible! It’s long been on my bucket list to summit one of the world’s seven summits, and it’s so surreal I’ve now realized that dream!”

“WE CLIMBED THE HIGHEST FREE-STANDING MOUNTAIN IN THE WORLD!!!!! 6 days, 5 climate zones, and 19,341 ft of elevation! Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro has physically and mentally been the hardest challenge I’ve ever experienced, and I would not trade it for anything! I am so grateful and proud to accomplish this climb, but I wouldn’t have been able to do it without our 6 phenomenal guides, 41 extraordinary porters, 2 amazing chefs, and the 12 motivating climbers that became my family.”

~ Lyndale, Kilimanjaro Climber
