Run for the Planet on World Cleanup Day
World Clean-Up Day: Sept 16th
Join us for World Cleanup Day on September 16th! Environmental conservation is one of GIVE’s project pillars, and on any one of our trips, you’ll learn about land stewardship and how we can all do our best to care for our planet. GIVE empowers our participants to be global citizens and while we encourage travel to gain perspective and see some of the world’s greatest problems first-hand, you don’t have to travel to make a positive impact. Think globally, act locally!
GIVE is partnering with Tuesdays for Trash, a global movement, and Dirtbag Runners, an international running group, to organize Run for the Planet, an annual event and fundraiser. Join us on September 16th, World Cleanup Day, for an opportunity to unite and take action for our planet, wherever you may be. Whether you’re out for a morning walk or organizing a beach clean-up with your friends, we hope to see you outside and making an impact!
When and Where:
On Saturday, September 16th, participants around the world will be joining together for a community-led or individual run/walk to pick up trash seen along their chosen route — whether it be around their neighborhood, a trail, or city streets. During the event, all participants are encouraged to stream, post, and discuss their findings on personal social media platforms while tagging @givevolunteers / @TuesdaysForTrash and @dirtbagrunners using #RunForThePlanet and #givevolunteers to increase awareness about the issue and enter this year’s raffle. We can’t wait to see the changes made worldwide and look forward to sharing the photos of our impact together!
