Our rigorous safety protocols include deep relationships with host communities, expert risk management, and highly trained staff. Every GIVE team member is certified in Wilderness First Aid (WFA) and CPR, with additional training in risk management, outdoor leadership, and cultural awareness. From destination vetting to ongoing program evaluation, we take every measure to ensure your child’s well-being.

GIVE’s experienced and approachable staff are there 24/7 to guide your child through every adventure, project, and cultural experience. We ensure thorough preparation for all activities, foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere, and serve as a bridge between travelers and our host communities—creating a meaningful and safe journey.

GIVE welcomes travelers of all backgrounds, starting at age 15! Most of our trips are designed for adults (18+), perfect for those seeking adventure, cultural immersion, and meaningful impact. For younger travelers (ages 15-18), we offer specialized teen trips each summer, ensuring a supportive and enriching experience.
Concerned about your child traveling alone? Most GIVE travelers start their journey solo—but, upon arrival, they join a close-knit group of like-minded adventurers who will become lifelong friends. Of course, friends and family are always welcome to join, too!

How do I sign my child up for a trip?
It’s simple, just follow these three simple steps:
- Have them apply online
- Once accepted they can log in to their GIVE profile, select their preferred trip, & secure their spot with a deposit
- Get ready with GIVE’s full support!
Can I travel with my kid(s) too?
Yes! We’ve had plenty of parents join their children on these lifechanging experiences. You are welcome to join us on any scheduled trip or, if you’d like a more intimate and unique experience, you can contact us directly to craft a private family trip itinerary.
Who do I contact if I have more questions?
Everyone in the GIVE office is a past volunteer and trip leader who would love to share their personal experience with you, help ease any concerns, and answer all your questions. All trip deposits are transferrable and good for life with guaranteed flexibility in case plans change. Our unmatched customer service team can help you navigate free trip changes, transfer funds to future trips, and help you experience GIVE when the time is right. *All travelers are required to purchase traveler insurance as added trip protection.
