GIVE15 – Everything you Need to Know

What can I expect?

We’re celebrating 15 years of GIVE with the community that helped us get here! This is a free event, welcoming all of our GIVE community to come together, reconnect, and celebrate the impact this global movement has had around the world for the last 15 years. Come ready to connect, hike, swim, camp, dance, and kick it with your GIVE fam!

Where are we staying?

We have booked campgrounds for our whole community at Hot Springs Resort & Campground, NC. You are welcome to camp in your car or pitch a tent by the river; we have plenty of room for either. The campgrounds have potable water, bathrooms, showers, and firepits. Just bring anything you need to enjoy the outdoors comfortably.

What about food?

Bring your favorite camp food and drinks to share and enjoy throughout the weekend. We recommend pitching in with other GIVE alumni to make meals together. Plus, there’s a local grocery store and great restaurants about 10 minutes outside camp! GIVE will cover one family meal for the event.

What will we be doing?

The goal is simple – bring the GIVE community together, hang out, and celebrate everything we’ve built over the last 15 years.

Expect a laid-back weekend with good people, good energy, and a mix of things to jump into throughout. We’ll come together for a classic Carolina BBQ, share some updates from GIVE projects and programs around the world, and spend plenty of time reconnecting, swapping stories around the campfire, and getting outside.

There will be a handful of optional activities happening throughout the weekend, like morning yoga, a hike to a nearby viewpoint, yard games, music, and other community-led sessions to come together naturally.

At the end of the day, it’s the people who make this what it is, and that’s all of you.

If you’re looking to explore a bit more, there are also some great options nearby, like hot spring mineral baths, white water rafting, ziplining, and horseback riding.

Principles for GIVE15

Radical Welcome

No matter how much time has passed, you’ve always got a place here. This community is made up of people who show up, stay curious, and care about something bigger, and you’re a part of that. Just come as you are

Give Generously

Pack for the person next to you. Bring extra food, extra water, and extra supplies, and share freely, no strings attached. But generosity doesn’t stop there. Bring your energy, your interests, and your unique gifts too. Have a skill, a passion, or an idea? You’re invited to run your own workshop or event throughout the weekend. Generosity is not just on trips; it’s in our nature.

Build Together

This event is only as good as what we all bring to it. Reach out to carlyjo@givevolunteers to run a workshop, organize a game, lead an activity, or simply show up with an open mind. Whether you’re planning a competitive yard game tournament, facilitating a mindfulness event, or teaching a permaculture workshop, it all adds to the experience. Support the people who are making things happen this weekend, and consider being one of them.

Leave It Better

Whether it’s the land we camp on, the spaces we share, or the people we meet, we leave everything better than we found it. Clean up after yourself. Check in on each other. See the best in the person next to you and reflect it. This is how GIVE has always worked in the world, and the same is true here.

Adventure On

We’re celebrating 15 years of showing up, leaning in, and growing together. This weekend, put down the weight of what was and the pull of what’s next. The most powerful thing GIVE has ever taught us is that presence is the point. Be here. Be bold. The adventure continues, because of you.
